Wait, What is llms.txt, and Why Should I Care?
llms.txt is an emerging file format used by language models (like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) to understand your site’s most important content. Instead of sifting through every line of HTML, with the integration of AI tools, Search Engines can further zoom in on your most helpful resources as organized by you.
For your site, this means:
More accurate and relevant exposure in AI-generated responses
More control over how your content is interpreted by the tools your audience is using
Why We Added llms.txt Capabilities to Dirigible SEO
As search moves beyond the traditional “Google and click” model into AI-driven generative results—the first thing users now see on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs)—it’s more important than ever to ensure your content appears in those results and connects with your audience.
Your content deserves to be seen and we’re making it more findable in AI-powered environments with these updates to the Dirigible SEO plugin.
How It Works
Once you update your site, you’ll have the ability to create your own llms.txt file that will be your domain name followed by “/llms.txt” (i.e. yourwebsite.com/llms.txt). You can access the dashboard for editing your llms.txt by visiting the admin section of your site and clicking “Dirigible”. You will then find a tool titled “LLMs.txt Manager”.
